The punic wars (264-146 bc) and the Italic wars (341-290 bc/ 91-88 bc) were both part of the expansion of Rome.
The Punic Wars were against Carthage and the Italic Wars was against the Samnites (341-290 bc) and then the Italic War (91-88 bc) was a civil war between people who wanted Italian allies to have full Roman citizenship.
Was the difference just who they actually fought against?
