My wife has been peeking at me from around corners and behind furniture. It's gone from weird to terrifying

My wife "Lynn" and I have been together for six years and married for 11 months. Our entire history together has been very normal and never once have I noticed any weird behaviors or red flags. I can't stress enough how out of character this whole thing is for her.

Lynn is very kind, intelligent and thoughtful. She's always been someone who is extremely empathetic. She's the world's kindest person. Even though she is very smart, she's not really the type to play jokes or pranks on people. She's not overstandingly funny, but she's always been capable of being playful and humorous.

The first time I caught her peeking at me from around a corner was 13 days ago. I was walking down our hall towards the living room when I noticed her peeking from around the corner of the hallway. She quickly pulled her head back and I could hear her fast walking away from the other side of the corner. It was pretty clear to me that she had been spying/peeking at me. I paused for a second and considered going after her but I chose not to and went about my business. I didn't want to embarrass her and I thought she might have been playing a prank on me. I also don't want to make her feel like I'm::::::::::' always on the lookout for anything out of the ordinary that she might be doing.

The second time I caught her was 8 days ago. I was taking some cups out of the cabinet when I saw her peeking at me over the top of the refrigerator. She quickly lowered her head down when she saw me look at her. This time I went after her and I caught up to her in the bedroom and held her by the arms. I asked her in a calm but stern tone what she was doing. She looked up at me with a smile on her face, eyes wide, and darting back and forth. She almost looked like a caught kid. Her eyes were wide and they kept darting. She looked like she had just been busted for something. She had this embarrassed smile on her face with her teeth biting into her lip and just looked up at me. She said "I'm just watching you" in a tone that was almost like a kid who had just been caught thieving. I asked her why and she said "I just am". I told her it was kind of creepy but that I was okay with it and to please stop as it was kind of creepy. She said okay. That was that and she seemed to be totally back to normal after that. It was kind of weird but not a big deal. I didn't think too much of it and forgot about it soon after. I have to admit though that it was a bit strange.

The third time I caught her was yesterday. I was in the kitchen cutting some veggies. Our kitchen has an open counter. Where you can walk all the way around it and stand literally right next to the person who is cooking. Lynn was standing there and she looked up at me and smiled. I smiled back and we both looked back to what we were doing. After about 10 seconds I looked back up to see her still staring at me. This time I didn't smile back. I just looked back down in confusion. Again, about 10 seconds went by and I looked up to see her still staring at me. This time I stopped what I was doing and just looked at her until she looked away. She didn't look up again but went on with whatever she was doing and kept her head down. I felt a bit uneasy. She was just too fixated.

Later on that evening as we were going to bed I told her I wanted to talk to her about something. She asked me what it was and I told her I'd tell her in the morning but I totally forgot about it that next morning and forgot it altogether until this afternoon when I caught her peeking from behind the couch as I walked by.

I stopped dead in my tracks and looked at her. I don't know how she didn't notice but somehow she did not see me stop. My natural instinct was to think to myself "here we go again". I took a few steps back and slowly walked towards where she was peeking from. She was peeking with just one eye. I leaned down and just looked at her. She started shaking, her eyes got wide, and she scurried behind the couch like a bug. Even though she was now out of sight I could tell that she had begun crawling on her belly towards the other side of the couch. It was obvious because the couchmoved a bit and I could hear her heavy breathing. I didn't want to scare her any further so I just went about my business. I couldn't believe what I had just seen. She wasn't just peeking, she was hiding and spying.

As you can imagine, I'm sick to my stomach over this. I never ever expected my wife to behave this way. I'm going to wait until she falls asleep tonight and then I'm going to search the house for any hidden cameras. I'm really hoping she hasn't gone that far. If she has I'm going to be devastated. I can't think of anything that could make me think that my wife of all people would do something like this. I'm just so confused and worried. She's always been so loving and nothing like this.

I'm going to Attorney at Laws tomorrow to see what my options are. I'll update this post when I have more information.

Update: I searched the entire house last night. I didn't find any cameras but I found ways to access the attic from two different places in the house. I didn't go check it because I didn't want her to know that I was snooping around. I feel like I'm losing my mind. This is insane. I'm really not kidding that she is the last person I'd expect to do something like this. Please send help.

Update 2: I knew her longer than I thought. My father died in a tragic car accident 4 years before I met Lynn. A few days after his death, I went to the hospital to talk to the doctor who tried to save him. I just wanted to know more details about the accident and what his last moments were like and if he said anything. The doctor told me everything I wanted to know and we talked for a while. After about 10 minutes of talking, a young nurse came in to throw out his trash. While she was in there, we talked about my dad being a nice guy and how sad it is when accidents happen and how tragic and unexpected it was. I quoted "You never know what tomorrow brings". Right as I said that the nurse looked at me from the trash can she was throwing out the trash in. She looked at me with a cold stare for about 3 seconds and then scurried off. I don't know what made her stop. But it was kind of weird. I totally forgot about that until now. I just realized that the nurse that day was Lynn who I met 3 years later at a bar. I just can't believe it. I totally forgot about that until I started thinking about it today. I just can't believe it.
