I saw a video of this on YouTube where they had a professional chef make high end meals for a $10 budget for 10 meals and I thought it would be an interesting challenge for the Subreddit so here are the rules for the challenge:

**The Rules are:**

* 10 meals for 2 people. (You can do one person for the length of the challenge but you need to make 10 meals worth of food)
* You can only spend $10 on the food. So no frugal cooking I look at this more of a budget from scratch meal. If you can make it cheaper without sacrificing flavor power to you.
* Each meal must be at least 500 calories.
* Each meal must have a protein from the list provided. (Chicken breast or thighs, ground beef, fish, beans, peanut butter, eggs, cheese)
* Each meal must have at least one serving of a fruit or vegetable.
* You can use what you already have in your pantry as long as you calculate the cost. You are not able to use a full pantry item ex. you can't use a whole jar of jam just because you opened it you need to know how much is in the jar and calculate the cost.
* The cost for pantry items must be factored into your costs so if you use a tbsp of flour you need to know how much that is in grams then calculate a cost based off that.
* Cooking oil is not a pantry item. Any oil used is to be factored into the cost of the meal.
* You can only eat food for the challenge. No going out to eat. No having friends or family bring you food. The 10 meals must make up your entire diet for the duration of the challenge.
* No saved food. You need to finish or throw away the food before you can move on to the next meal.
* You can calculate the calories using the nutrition calculator on Google.
* You can do this challenge as many times as you want so if you want to experiment with different cuisines or cooking methods you can use this challenge for that.
* Please list the ingredients used followed by either a picture of the ingredients or a link to the listed item from Amazon. This is so everyone can see the quality of the ingredients used and give an accurate calculation of the cost.
* Each meal must have a photo of the finished meal.
* You can use leftovers in a new meal but you need to calculate the cost of the meal as if you were buying all the ingredients so in the case of leftovers you will be adding the cost of those ingredients to the new meal.
* If you are trying a new recipe for a meal please link to the original recipe so that everyone can see it.
* Please format the meals with bold headings in the following format.
Meal #, Name of meal
* You must post the total cost of all the ingredients at the end of the post so that everyone knows you stayed under the budget. You can also calculate the cost per calorie if you want and post the total for that as well.

**The List of Proteins:**

* Chicken breast or thighs
* Ground beef
* Fish (Any type)
* Beans (Any type)
* Peanut butter
* Eggs
* Cheese (Any type)
* Turkey (Any type)

**The Scoring:**

* You get 1 point for every meal you complete.
* If you go over the 10 meal budget you lose a point for every dollar you go over.
* If you finish all 10 meals you get 5 points.
* If you lose weight during the challenge you get 2 points for every pound you lose.

**The Recipes:**

Please post your recipes in the thread you created for the challenge and not in the comments. If you want feedback on a specific recipe you can make a new post for that.

**The Weight Loss:**

* You need to weigh yourself after finishing the 10 meals.
* Please post a before and after photo of yourself.
* Please keep track of the weight you lose and post it with your after photo.

If you have any questions or need any clarification you can ask in the comments.
