When I was a kid, I thought I wanted kids. Now I never want kids. I wonder if parents today will have kids because they don't want kids.

I was always sure I wanted to have kids. I am an only child, and was fairly lonely as a result. I assumed I wanted multiple kids.

Then I got married, and having kids seemed like too much work. Our lives were too busy. We didn't have enough money. We didn't have a big enough house. Etc. Our plan was to have one or two kids, and have them late.

Then I turned 40. Now we're too old and too set in our ways. I *hate* my job, and it's better if I'm just as miserable as possible, versus being a working dad too.

Plus, I still don't want kids. So it's all good. But I do wonder what people with kids think about having kids. Back when I was a teenager, kids were awesome. Fun. Cute. Innocent. I loved kids.

Now kids are the leading cause of high blood pressure....
