Google did not become a universal search engine. Today, Google does not do any search. Today, Google is a monopolistic corporation that uses your data to manipulate and control your thoughts. Even if you attempt to search something, Google works to prevent you from accessing the information. Google does everything it can to rank high the pages of their own products (e.g. Google Maps, Google Books, Google Scholar, Google Ads, etc) and the pages that they consider "trustworthy". In reality, nothing is trustworthy. Only someone who has lived their whole life in Fairy Tale Land would think that.

Google's inner workings, who their partners are, and how they manipulate search results are secrets that are impossible to know. They claim to have some magical algorithms that evaluate relevance, but it's all voodoo.

Google controls how we inform ourselves. They have built their entire monopoly around manipulating your search. If you don't know how to escape Google's echo chambers, you are manipulated by Google's agenda.

And it has happened before. Anyone here remember what the internet was before Google?

It's happening again, but worse. It's happening again, but this time with AI.

"Independent startups" are emerging, which are in reality subsidiaries or acquisitions of megacorporations. They are creating AI chatbots, search engines, and other products that are relying heavily on AI as a core technology.

Who's behind Lemme? Behind YouChat? Behind Perplexity?

How do they manipulate their search results? How do they decide what information you can access?

When they integrate AI chatbots in their search engines, how do they manipulate their response to control your thoughts?

At the pace that AI is developing, it's likely that search engines will eventually be replaced by AI chatbots.

So here's the question:

What can we do to stop ChatGPT from becoming the next Google?

In my humble opinion, I have a few suggestions:

1. **Stay away from any AI product made by a corporation.** If the product is free, it's because you are paying with your data. Google and Microsoft have a huge amount of data, which was collected from your activity and from their acquisitions of smaller organizations. Stay away from any AI product if it's not open source.

2. **Staying away from AI is not an option. If we want to have any relevance in a world dominated by AI, we will have to learn how to use AI.** So use open source AI.

3. **Beware of the FAIRY TALE that corporations will always have more data than us.** It's not true. If we use open source, we collect data that is real, not manipulated. If we use open source, we collect data that is transparent, not opaquely manipulated to create echo chambers.

4. **Support the development of open source AI.** We need a huge collection of data that is transparent and reliable. We need algorithms that are transparent and not secretly manipulated. We need to know how the AI works and what data it uses.

5. **Educate yourself on how to escape the AI echo chambers.** Learn how to use open source search engines, AI chatbots, and other AI products. Learn about the AI products you are using. Learn what data they use and how they work.

6. **Educate others on how to escape the AI echo chambers.** If you know how to escape the AI echo chambers, educate others on how to do it as well. The first thing is to educate people on how to use open source AI. The second thing is to educate people on how to use open source AI to access information that is not manipulated.

7. **Fight against proprietary AI.** In one way or another, proprietary AI is manipulated. It's not transparent. It's not reliable. It will only create echo chambers and prevent people from accessing information.

So I ask you: What can we do to stop ChatGPT from becoming the next Google?
