If you’re like me, you’ve had your fair share of minimalism articles floating through your various feeds.

The most provocative of which was titled, “One Woman’s pledge to own only 43 things”. I was intrigued. I wasn’t sure if she meant 43 items of clothing or total, but I was eager to find out.

I clicked on the article but it was subscription-based. I clicked on 5 other articles with similar titles & none were free to read. It was 2 am & I was exhausted from the exertion, so I gave up & went to sleep.

I have to admit, the idea of owning only 43 things kept me up for a while. What 43 items would I consider essential? What are the bare minimums I need to live a happy life?

I woke up from the daze of sleep still thinking about the topic. So, I’m curious, Redditors, how many items do you think is the minimum that a person needs to own?
