I see plenty of articles that use the phrase "If you said to someone that an all-girl Japanese metal band featuring a pop singer in anime booty shorts was going to end up playing Download or get a thumbs-up from Slash, they would have likely clocked you for a lunatic. But that’s now not only a reality, but it’s such a normal thing, it shouldn’t be an issue at all."

"They are truly the real deal, a Japanese metal band who have earned an invite to the boys’ club and aren’t about to let go."

"It’s this mix of metal, pop, rock and J-pop that has catapulted the group to international success."

Ok, sure, this is the same way you can say that the Swedish Chef is a European actor, just because he appeared on some TV show. Who gives a F if they are from Japan?
