I’ve been browsing for a while now and I am disappointed. It’s so obvious that most of the people on here have never read any decent self development books or took any courses. Or maybe they just sucks at applying what they’ve learned.

First of all, the most common post type are “I made a list of all addons that can block social media sites from your browser.” Cool. I can also block them on my router or just move my computer to a different room and close my office door.

Established companies have been doing this for a long time. Companies like stayfocusd, selfcontrol, cold turkey and many others. I do not understand why you all reinvent the wheel all the time. I am not saying you should not write about it, but stop acting like you all invented something.

Second, I am disappointed at the style of the posts. “Hey guys I am 24 and I’ve been in therapy for a few months and tomorrow I am going to break up with my gf of 5 years and then buying a one way ticket to the North Pole and I am going to walk to the other side. Meanwhile I am going to sell all of my belongings and start to live in a tent and I am going to document the whole journey here. It has not started yet but until now it was awesome.” Or “Two years ago I clicked on a link on Chambers and it changed my life!”

Folks, if you want to change your life you can start with reading a few decent books like Atomic Habits, The 48 Laws of Power, the 4 hour work week, Essentialism, 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, Daring Greatly, The 4 Hour Body, Extreme Ownership, Deep Work, and many others. And then talk about your journey here!
