The revolution in Iran is not about women- it’s about the freedom of an entire nation.

There’s a lot of misinformation going around that the revolution in Iran is a feminist movement. It is not.<br><br>It is a humanitarian movement. And it is for freedom for all of its citizens. And it is a stance against religious extremism and authoritarianism. It is not about the hijab- which is a symbol of religious extremism, it is for the freedom of ALL citizens in Iran. It’s for all women all men and trans all non-binary all queer people in Iran. (The queer community is being murdered by the government in Iran). <br><br>And it’s an uprising against the system that was put in place in 1979 where women were forced to wear hijab. It is for the freedom of journalists who are being arrested and jailed. It is for the freedom of young girls who have been arrested and put in jail and been forced to cut their hair off. It is for the freedom of a nation. <br><br>The revolt is over the fact that women are being beat up, arrested, and “disappeared” by the government for not wearing the hijab. They are fighting for the freedom from forced marriage. The freedom to be able to go into a bar without being arrested. The ability to be able to go into a restaurant without being arrested for being in a restaurant with a man who is not a blood relative. And so much more.<br><br>The media is doing a horrible job at accurately portraying this uprising in Iran. And I think it’s part of the media’s attempt to make this revolution look like it is only a feminist movement, or that it is only about women. It is not. It is about the freedom of all of the citizens in Iran.<br><br>Iranians are being brutally beat, arrested shot and killed! Women, children, men- everyone!!!<br><br>The world needs to be aware of this- and I don’t feel like we’re getting the proper news from all of these different news outlets. I believe social media has been the best place to get the news- where Iranian’s are posting videos and photos live of what is actually happening there. The news on Iranian tv is being manipulated. The news on American tv is being manipulated. The news on the BBC is being manipulated. The majority of the world’s media is being manipulated by the government. And the only place you can get the truth of what’s really happening in Iran is in what the people are recording on their phones and posting on Facebook Instagram Twitter TikTok and Reddit.<br><br>Iran pro-democracy protesters are being arrested- and cut in half by a helicopter. They are being shot in the head by armed government officials. Young girls are having their hair cut off and they are being arrested and put in jail. Children, as young as 6 years old, are being arrested and “disappeared”- meaning they are being murdered by the government. Hospitals are being raided by the government. People are being brutally beat and having their heads cracked open. People are being mowed down by cars. Government officials are going house to house- looking for people who have been protesting. <br><br>This is why we are seeing so many Iranian people committing suicide by burning themselves. (Many many people especially women are setting themselves on fire- burning themselves alive!). <br><br>This is why we are seeing so many Iranian people posting on social media saying “goodbye” to their friends and family and loved ones. Because they know that when they protest they are most likely going to be shot and killed.<br><br>This is why we are seeing so many Iranian people still protesting!!! Even though they know this could be their last day on this planet. <br><br>They are fighting for the humanitarian freedom of all Iranian citizens.<br><br>This is NOT a feminist movement. This is a humanitarian movement. Let’s work together to bring these issues to light. <br><br>And let’s be very clear that the Iranian government does not care about its citizens- and that is the number one reason why the citizens of Iran are rising up and protesting. We see that in so many countries around the world. The government is in place to protect its citizens and keep them safe- but instead the government is protecting itself from its citizens. <br><br>And this is an uprising that all of us should participate in. Iranian citizens are risking their lives. They are being murdered for speaking out against the government and for fighting for the rights of freedom. I would like to see a lot more people stand up for the right and freedom of the Iranian nation. <br><br>We have to be aware of this. And we have to let the Iranian government know that they do not have the right to kill their citizens.<br><br>It is also very important to be aware that Russia and China are involved in this- and the United States and Canada have imposed sanctions on Iran which will hurt the citizens of Iran. It will cause huge inflation- and it will affect the price of food. <br><br>This should concern all of us. And anyone who says that this is just a feminist movement- they are lying. They are either lying or they are misinformed. And we have to get to the root cause of what’s actually happening in Iran. <br><br>Thank you.
