Can you return a job offer, but accept a lower salary?

I was offered a job, but the offer was for $70k/year. I had previously told them I was looking for $75k. I asked if they could get closer to that, and they said no.<br><br>I was about to decline when they said they would give me an additional $2500 signing bonus and 15% annual bonus which would put the TC at the 75k I was looking for.<br><br>Here's the thing, I don't want a signing bonus. I would much prefer to make $75k/year. I asked HR if I can accept the offer with no signing bonus and instead have the $2500 tacked onto my salary for the year. They said that's not possible.<br><br>Before I make my decision, I would love to hear what people think of this situation.
