I think we can all agree that casual sex is cheating, but what about kissing? I researched the internet and most men consider kissing cheating, but most women consider a kiss on the cheek fine but a kiss on the lips cheating, and most men don’t care about kissing on the cheek. Based on this information I have a few questions:

1) What should the protocol be in this situation when a man and woman are friends? In my mind, if I’m close to a girl, I’ll give her a peck on the cheek as a greeting. In order to not make these women uncomfortable, I have to know who considers a kiss on the cheek cheating and who doesn’t in order to show the proper respect to their marriage.

2) If we are to consider kissing cheating, then why not hugging? I think a husband would be more jealous to find out his wife’s male friend was giving her a tight hug than a peck on the cheek. Both are signs of affection, so both should be in the cheating category if a kiss is cheating.

3) When a couple gets married should there be a list of what is considered cheating so the other knows not to cross the line without the other’s consent? It seems to be a lack of communication in this department that leads to cheating.
