My friends and I are trapped in an infinite time loop, and the only way we can communicate with the outside world is by writing on each other's bodies.

When the clock hit 2:06 a.m., I was woken up by the sound of my front door being kicked in. At first, I thought it was just a nightmare, but then I realized I was awake. So, I reached over to my nightstand to charge my phone when a hand clutched around my wrist. Although it was dark, I could tell by the smell of her perfume and body odor that it was my girlfriend, Kayla.

I rubbed the sleep from my eyes, and the moonlight coming from the window illuminated Kayla. She laid in bed next to me. Her eyes were covered in blood, and multiple lacerations covered her entire body. I was taken aback.

I don't know how long it took me to get my voice together and ask her what had happened. "What... what the fuck happened to you?"

Kayla's mouth twitched as she tried to say something, but she couldn't. A piece of tape had been placed across her mouth, preventing her from speaking. My hands trembled as I slowly peeled the tape from Kayla's mouth, careful not to hurt her.

When I finally removed the tape, I saw that her lips were sewn shut with black stitches. I tried to untie the stitches, but they wouldn't budge. I pulled harder, and the pain shot through Kayla's face. She started to cry, and I apologized profusely.

"I'm sorry, baby; I won't do that again." I assured.

And that's when I saw it. On Kayla's torso, written in red letters, was a message. It read, "They're coming for us." I sat up in bed and read the message on Kayla's torso aloud. Her eyes widened, and she looked horrified, as if she hadn't seen the words before.

"What the fuck is this, Kayla?" I asked.

My questions were interrupted by the sound of footsteps coming from the living room. Heavy footsteps, like an elephant was walking around. The lights in my bedroom began to flicker, and the sound of the footsteps got closer. I hopped out of bed, and Kayla tried to do the same, but she fell onto the carpet. She was too weak and hurt too much to move around.

I tried to pick Kayla up, but she indicated that I shouldn't. She grabbed my arm and dragged me onto the floor with her. We both hid under my bed as the footsteps approached my bedroom. The lights flickered even faster now, and the sound of the footsteps was right outside my bedroom.

A figure entered the room, and my heart pounded inside my chest. I held my breath, hoping whoever it was wouldn't find us. The lights continued to flicker as the figure moved closer and closer to the bed. Although it was pitch black, I could feel its presence, and its breathing got louder.

I closed my eyes and held onto Kayla, my heart pounding against my ribcage. The closer the figure got, the louder its breathing got. I held onto Kayla as tight as I could, and then everything went black.

When my eyes opened again, I was in my bed, fast asleep. The same events that had just transpired transpired all over again.

It's been 2:06 for what feels like an eternity, and I'm still stuck in this time loop. I don't know what's going on, who or what is behind this, or how to escape it. But the only way I can communicate with people outside of this time loop is by writing on Kayla's body.

And I'm not the only one doing it. She says my friends are writing on her body while she's passed out or otherwise preoccupied.

It's been a long time since the events first started, and still, we're no closer to figuring out what's going on or how to escape this place. But if you're reading this, know that you're not alone.

We're trapped, and the only way we know that we're still alive is by reading the words written on each other's bodies.
