Your AI baby is squealing so loudly that I can't hear myself think

What is happening with the whole ChatGPT fiasco? So many people are talking about it as if it's the biggest thing that has ever happened. Like let's review here. How long has AI been around? We've known about it for years, decades even. But now suddenly, everything has to be centered around it and how it's the future of humanity. People are just getting very annoying over the whole issue. No, I don't want my AI baby to replace the cashier at a store (it sounds like a preposterous idea anyway). No, I don't want my AI baby to replace doctors and teachers (a lot of what they do is not data-based).

So what exactly is it that you want? "Well, since you have a voice, I want you to go out there and advocate for the AI baby." Why? I don't want a robot manservant at my beck and call. I can do most things myself. I'm not a moron. In fact, most people are not morons and can do things themselves. I don't need to say "ok AI baby, bring me my slippers." "Ok AI baby, cook me a meal." I'm capable of doing things on my own. It's not like I have some crippling disability or something that makes me completely reliant on others.

I swear to god, this whole AI baby craze is just a bunch of dingbats trying to have their cake and eat it too. All these billionaires talking about how great the AI baby is, but who exactly is going to help feed it? With how much jobs AI is going to destroy, it's not like people are going to have a lot of money to spend on their smart home devices and what not. They won't be able to afford it. Why do you want the AI baby when you can't even take care of it?
