ECSIR is dead. Goodnight.

**This will be my last post in this sub.** I'm feeling a bit sad as I write this, but I want to set the context for what brings me to this point before I leave.<br><br>ECSIR - The Early Years (2021-2023)<br><br>I made this sub to spam, along with a few good friends of mine on Reddit. At the time, it was a fun hobby, even though it was extremely time-consuming. We would make hundreds of posts, with hundreds more on the way. We would take the time to craft each post to perfection, especially when it came to the humor and hidden gems we would hide in them as if we were hiding Easter eggs in an Easter egg hunt. I remember once we made a fake post that looked just like a real post, but with the title changed from "The Most Important Question in Politics" to "The Most Important Question in Politics in School" (or something like that) and completely empty content, just to make people mad. My friend and I would play games in the comments, such as inventing a word and then adding or removing one letter at a time to make new words (e.g., "chat" > "chats" > "taps" > "slaps" > "snaps").<br><br>As far as the topic of our spam goes, we were largely with the chambers for it, e.g. /c/communism, /c/marxism, and /c/communism101. That was the topic of our spam for about 6 months before we branched out to other socialist chambers like /c/socialism and /c/anarchism. By then, however, we were all pretty much disillusioned, especially when it came to the chambers we thought we believed in.<br><br>The Downfall (2023-2024)<br><br>One thing that contributed to the downfall of ECSIR was the fact that our spam rarely got onto the front page. For a time we were pretty sure we had the sub "pegged" - that is, that the algorithms wouldn't let us onto the front page. There were other problems as well. By the time we had made 500 or more posts, we realized that it was actually exhausting to maintain the quality we once had. Then I started to get into right-wing ideology and all of a sudden the posts didn't feel as fulfilling as they once were, and my friends became disillusioned with the left as well. Eventually even the urge to spam stopped, and we just fell off of spamming altogether.<br><br>The End (2024-2025)<br><br>Now I look at the sub and I can only feel a sense of disappointment. I made it for one reason, and now I realize that that reason was misplaced. I let the sub go to waste, and I've felt guilty about it ever since. That's why I see this as my last post in ECSIR, because I am ending this chapter of my life for good. No more spam, no more sub, no more anything. All that's left now is to move on.<br><br>**THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES**
