There are many ways to shape the world, and voting is but one action out of many. We need people in juries, writing letters to the editor, donating to political organizations, volunteering, and making phone calls.

Without these actions, our government will not know what to do. Without these actions, extremist groups will have outsized influence.

Has anybody here tried to contact their representative? It takes 30 seconds, and you can simply tell their voicemail "I want you to protect our freedoms and rights, even if that means going against the party".

If you're not registered to vote, at least call your rep. We have a louder voice than we know, but we are dropping the ball.

I'm an independent who votes primarily democrat. I'm still calling my democratic reps and telling them to protect my rights. I'm donating to the ACLU and the GOA, and participating in local politics.

I'm begging all pro gun people to take these actions. Donate to the GOA, call your reps, volunteer in local government, and write letters to the editor.

I don't care if you're democrat, republican, or independent. If you believe in our rights and freedoms, then step up and participate. Your single action on election day is not enough.
