I recently went shopping but not for groceries, I went shopping for clothes and bought the most whack shit, 3 quarter shorts, 3 quarter pants, a few different coloured skin tight tank tops etc.

When I woke up this morning I felt like shit because of the money I spent on these things and I knew this was because this is the first time I've ever spent money on clothes without it being groceries, the same way my mother always used to spend on stupid things that I would never use.

It got me thinking, why would someone who spends all their money on other people like a mother would, decide to spend their money on themselves for once like I did. Well it turns out for me at least, it had a negative effect on me for buying clothes that didn't make me feel good, instead made me feel like shit that I wasted money on myself when I could have used it on something worth while, so I decided to return it and get my money back.

This then made me think, why do mothers spend their money on the kids instead of buying themselves things or investing their money in the future. Take the money mothers put into kids and multiply that over 10 years, you would be a very wealthy person, but instead they choose to use it on their children and have nothing left for themselves in the end, they don't enjoy the money they make and they don't invest in themselves since the child is their main source of self worth, why do kids have to be in private schools, why do kids have to go to sports on the weekend, why do kids have to have the new iPhone when that money could be used on a house deposit, a Tesla, a vacation, a business, etc.

It honestly makes complete sense now why I always knew in the back of my mind that women naturally do not care about making money unless it's for a social status, like men they can be a high earning career woman, but unless they're surrounded by other high earning career woman in their group chat, they don't feel like they've accomplished anything, which is true but just for the wrong reasons, they don't feel good about making money because they never get to spend the money they make on something that makes them feel good, like a new car for example.

In short and to be 100% honest, most men do not care about investing in their children and their future, nor do we care about the education we receive or the social status it brings, we choose to spend our time and money on ourselves and our friends, funny enough some of the wealthiest people in the world are men.

So it made me think, why do women spend their time and money on their kids, is it for a social status? is it because they truly care about their kids? Or is it because they don't have any form of self worth other than being a mother?

If I had to guess I would say it's a mix of all the above.

As a man, I don't spend my time or money on women, I don't go to the gym to look good for women, I don't go and get a nice haircut to impress anyone but myself. I don't spend time and money on a relationship, because I know it's pointless to invest in something like that since I have no guarantee it'll pay off in the future, whereas if I invest my time and money into myself, I know it will pay off in the future.

I think this is why my generation is seeing so many women who were always told they could do anything they put their mind to, but this has now backfired, they have no direction, and they don't know where to put their efforts, so they're putting all their efforts into becoming a mother, because that's what they were told to do and that's what they see as being fulfilling.

I don't think this is going to end well.

If you're reading this far into the post then thanks and I hope you enjoyed reading it, let me know what you think, I would love to hear your thoughts on this topic, thanks.

Edit: Wow I didn't expect this post to get upvoted this much so thank you everyone for the support
