What is the deal with the gates?

There's this park that I go to in the winter to ice skate. In the summer the frozen pond is basically a lake. It's a really nice park. Anyway, I don't like walking home through the dark and the cold in the winter and the park is one of the safest places I can go at night in my town.<br><br>I just got home not long ago and I'm going to bed soon, so I have time to kill. I sat on a bench and I'm just now writing this.<br><br>The park is always closed in the winter. They give you a little note with the dates that the park is closed, but I never pay attention. I've been going at night in the winter for a few months now. The other night I got to the park and they had these big metal gates with orange cones and yellow tape. I thought they were finally trying to keep people out but then I realized that it's not the park they are blocking off, it's the street leading up to the park. The park, itself, is fine. But the road leading up to it is closed.<br><br>They've been like this for a week now and I have no idea why. I've talked to people in the town and they are all confused. The park sign said that the park was closed but it didn't say anything about the street.<br><br>I know the park is closed, but why is the road closed? Why have they been closing this road for the past week? I've never seen them do this before.<br><br>&#x200B;<br><br>Edit: I'm glad you guys are enjoying yourselves but I'm not going to go out of my way to figure this out. I'm just done with it. You guys are making it a big deal over nothing.
