I've never felt so afraid using Omegle before. (Don't use it at night)

Hello all. I'm new to this sub, and I thought I'd share a very terrifying experience that happened to me a few nights ago. I've used Omegle many times playing "Never Have I Ever" and "Would You Rather" with people online and I've never ever experienced anything this frightening before.

I'll get straight to the point. I've never used Omegle this late at night. I started on Omegle around 10pm and was randomly connected with a person. I noticed that every 2 minutes or so, people were connecting and disconnecting me. I assumed this was because they were trying to find a girl, or maybe they were trying to find the right person. It was strange but I didn't think about it much.

After a few minutes of connecting and reconnecting, I got a person to talk to me. He was a young guy. He said he was 16. It was a little weird that he was talking to a girl in her 20s but I dropped it. We were just talking about random things when he said, "Wow, you have the most beautiful smile, by the way." I felt a little odd that he said this but dropped it. I said, "Thanks."

We were talking for a while about grammar and English and he randomly said again, "You have the most beautiful smile. I can't get over it." I replied, "Thanks... if you say so." I found it odd that he was saying this again, but I didn't care much about it. We kept talking about random things like school and stuff. I found it a bit weird that he kept talking about my smile a little excessively, but I just dropped it.

The conversation went well for a while, but I eventually had to say my good-byes because I had to wake up early for work. As I was about to leave, he asked me, "Can you give me your location?" I was taken aback by this and I said, "No, I ain't doing that." He said, "So you're scared, then." I was shocked and I said, "I just don't feel safe doing that," and he said, "Exactly. You should be scared." I wasn't sure what to make of it at first but I thought to myself, "This guy is creepy."

I immediately disconnected from him, thinking that it was over and done with. When I disconnected, I got connected to another guy. I was a little surprised because it was 10:30PM and I could tell that most people log in during the day. I didn't think much of this, but when I got connected to the person, it got weird because he was in the exact same room as the last person. The background was nearly identical, and the visual quality was the same.

I thought to myself, "Is this the same person? Did they just trick me?" I started talking to him and I realized they were the same person. He didn't even try to change the background or anything. I'm sure he had to change his camera settings for some reason. The conversation started off with him being all nice and respectful, but he revealed that he was the exact same person who I was just talking to.

He initially said, "I'm really sorry if I came on too strong earlier, but I just wanted to know your location." I was completely frightened and felt shocked that he was literally trying to connect with me again. I told him that it was inappropriate to ask that and he said, "I just want to know your location so I can come check you out." I didn't know what to make of it initially, but I said, "Okay, why not... sure."

I decided to mess around a bit because I wasn't going to give him my real address. I told him that I live in New York City. I picked the most crowded place in the US so he couldn't find me if he was actually trying to. He said, "I'm too far away. I live in California. How long will it take to get there?" I thought, "Okay, this is clearly a joke." I was joking with him initially and told him that it will take 2 days to walk. He said, "I don't know if I can walk that far." This was only the beginning.

The conversation went on for about an hour and it just got weirder and weirder. At one point, I asked him, "You're not planning to come over to my house, are you?" and he said, "Yes, I am."

I know this sounds crazy, but that's exactly what he said. Like, he was deadass serious. I kept talking to him out of curiosity, and I was asking all sorts of questions like, "Well, aren't you going to be really tired after walking 2 days?" and he said, "I'll be fine." He was so serious about it that I had to laugh myself. I was laughing together with him while he was dead serious.

I started to feel a bit more comfortable talking to him because I thought he was just joking. I didn't think he was serious. But then, he said, "You know, I'll show you my car," and showed me his car. I didn't care much about this, but then he showed me a backpack filled with clothes, saying, "I've been packing up a lot of stuff." As if he was actually going to drive to NYC or something.

I was getting a bit more creeped out at this point because this joke was going too far. I didn't even think it was a joke at this point. I didn't know what to make of it, but I decided to keep talking to see where this conversation was going. I was asking all sorts of questions like, "Aren't you scared of driving for 2 days?" and he said, "No." He was completely serious.

I asked him if he had driven 2 days straight before. He said, "Yes. Many times." I didn't know what to make of this and I was getting a bit more creeped out. I was asking him questions like, "Don't you need to sleep?" and he said, "No, I don't need to sleep." I was like, "Okay... this guy is weird."

Then, I asked him, "What if I'm not home when you get there?" and he said, "Then I'll wait for you." I didn't even know what to make of this. I was a bit afraid to hear this. I literally didn't know what to make of it. He was so serious saying this and I just laughed. I was hoping it was just a joke.

At one point, I had to pee. I said, "Excuse me for a minute," and he said, "No, you can't go to the bathroom. I need to see you the whole time." I didn't know what to make of this, but I told him I'd be right back. I peed, then came back, and he was still talking about his car and stuff. I laughed it off and kept talking to him. I thought I was out of the woods because I thought he was just joking.

But then, everything started to fall apart when he showed me a suitcase. I kid you not. A real life suitcase filled with clothes, snacks, water, and everything else. I didn't know what to make of this. He was telling me that this was his "travel bag" and literally said, "I'm going to head out now. See you soon." I didn't know what to make of this. I thought it was a joke, but his tone was so serious.

I asked him, "Well, how are you going to drive without closing your laptop?" and he said, "I'll bring it." He showed me his car keys and literally walked out the door with his car keys, suitcase, and laptop. The background went black for a while and I thought to myself, "Okay, this joke has officially gone way too far."

I was terrified at this point. I didn't know what to make of it. It didn't even feel real. I felt like I was watching a horror movie. I thought to myself, "Holy shit. Is this guy actually trying to drive to New York?" I didn't know what to make of it. I was completely terrified. I didn't know if it was a joke or not, but I didn't even care at this point. I was just completely terrified.

I stayed on for another 10 minutes out of curiosity, and the background just stayed black the entire time. I didn't even know what to make of it at this point. I just disconnected as quickly as I could and immediately turned off my laptop. I checked my door to make sure it was locked and everything. I didn't even care if it was a joke or not. I was just so terrified and creeped out by the whole situation.

Looking back on it, I'm not sure if it was a joke or not. I don't know if he was actually planning to drive to New York. It's possible that he just pranked me and he's not actually driving. But regardless, it was one of the creepiest and most frightening experiences that I've ever had online. I'll never use Omegle again.
