DanceApp

I've participated two times in the Algorand hackathon, last time I met a lot of cool persons: developers, graphic designers, mods of this sub (shoutout <3).

I came to the idea of creating a mobile app allowing users to create dance challenges and win rewards for the videos they get posted on it.

The world of content creation is a very competitive one. In this context, it is quite challenging to catch the eye of a big audience.

Considering rewards for every single post on a social media platform would require some big amount of money. It would be too expensive and it would generate some problems regarding the distribution of rewards (based on what to put a paywall?)

So I came to the idea of creating a dance app with dance challenges that people can participate to.

The flow would be something like this:

* a creator posts a challenge on the app
* the rewards for the challenge are set by the creators based on their budget
* users can participate by posting a video containing the dance challenge posted by the creator
* users get rewarded for participating to the challenges (amount set by the creators)

It could work for any social media platform: Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Twitter or even YouTube.

At first, the app would have a pilot, proof of concept program, where I would recruit 10 creators from various platforms to have a proof of concept before scaling it.

As I am not an expert in dance, I would receive knowledge from a person in the dance industry that I know on what are the most trending choreos and what are the most popular creators in order to recruit them.

In order to make a new post, the creators would only have to post a video and set the reward for the challenge and they would get the job done.

They would only have to post a video, post the reward for the challenge and recruits would get the job done.

Having a standalone app for this would be more beneficial than having a bot for this.

The reason is that a bot would only be a notification tool, while an app can be a platform on its own.

You could see:

* all challenges live on the app
* be able to participate on the spot by posting a video from the gallery or taking a new one
* see what are the most trending challenges
* decide if you want to get notifications for all challenges, customise them based on what type of content you want to see

It would also help creators with the distribution of rewards to participants.

For example, if a challenge is a video with 1 million views, it would be very challenging for the creator to reward every single person that has viewed the video.

Having a reward distribution when posting a video to the challenge would allow creators to reward a bigger number of persons engaging with the content, as they would know exactly how many people received rewards for their content.

The app would also help the creators to be exposed to new audiences, by featuring their content to users that are interested in dance challenges.

So, is this something you would use?

**EDIT**

I just wanted to thank everyone that left a comment, each and everyone of you for believing in this project. I couldn't have done it without your support.

I'm not sure how I would put this in words, but thank you so much for your kindness.

I will do my best to make this project a reality.
