If the Weimar Republic was just Germany after the war and the Third Reich was Germany under Hitler, why wasnt the period immediately after the fall of the Third Reich called the Fourth Reich?

The Weimar Republic came before the Third Reich and the Fourth Reich should have come before modern day Germany according to this logic.
