CMV: People who support US involvement in the Israel/Palestine conflict are the same type of people who think the US should "bring democracy" to other countries

I've noticed in my discussions with people who support US involvement in the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, we usually end with me arguing that the involvement will not help any side and will only lead to more killing. I was on my way home from a friend's house and I thought, "what else have I heard people say 'the US needs to get involved in' and make the same argument that the US needs to get involved to protect people or help the greater good?"<br><br>Then I thought about all the times I've heard people say the US needs to go to war with country X to "bring democracy" to country X, and I realized that these people are the same kind. <br><br>If you think the US should invade Libya, Syria, Venezuela, or any other country to "protect the citizens", I think you'd be the type to also support US involvement in Israel/Palestine. And I also think that you're wrong on both counts.
