CMV: There are NO differences in a black-white man relationship and a white-white man relationship. Color does not matter. It is down to the individual.

I've seen a recent upsurge in comments and a couple of posts on the relationship sub that black men feel uncomfortable when someone says "I don't see color" or "I don't prefer color but I do like black guys" or in general any reference to the color of a person they may be dating. I believe that there are no differences in a black guy and a white guy. I realize there are cultural differences and there is obviously a difference in the color, but I don't see any inherent differences based on the color of the man. On top of this I have considered lots of different types of men and I have dated a couple of black guys and a couple of white guys. I also have friends who dated black, white, Asian, etc. Every single one of us have said the same thing: They are two people you date, not two colors.

I am not saying that there is a difference in racism between black people and other races. Racism is a problem that affects people of all colors, and I realize there are issues affecting black and white people. What I am saying there is no difference in dating, kissing, cuddling, etc. a black guy vs. a white guy. When I go to sleep with my boyfriend and he is black, cuddling with him is no different than cuddling with my white guy.

EDIT: I would like to say that I am not equating black racism with white racism. There is a problem with black men being treated inferior to white men and that is one of the reasons why they need better representation in media as well as in real life.
