CMV: The United States should not aid Ukraine, and it is in fact aiding Russia by doing so.

Since Ukraine began being invaded by Russian forces, the US has put major economic sanctions on Russia, has continually pumped billions of dollars into their war effort, and is currently bypassing traditional NATO ally arms suppliers to supply Ukraine with more powerful weapons directly.<br><br>As we know, the US is currently suffering from major internal problems including but not limited to rising inflation, skyrocketing job losses, insane gas prices, and severe economic instability. And yet the US continues to funnel billions into Ukraine.<br><br>The US weapons being sent to Ukraine are so high tech that the US is now unable to provide the same high tech level of weapons to other allies. Furthermore, the US is sacrificing its own industrial base by mass producing weapons and supplies for Ukraine. For example, the US is currently suffering from a shortage in mortar rounds for the military.<br><br>And what for? Does the US really think it can beat the second most powerful military in the world? Russia has already threatened to expand its military campaign into other European nations if Ukraine receives any more help, and the US still hasn't stopped giving aid. We are on a collision course with WW3 and the US is still ignoring it.<br><br>However, what if this isn't just a stupid mistake or foolish bravery? What if the US actually knows it cannot beat Russia, and that Ukraine will lose its war? What if the real goal of the US is to weaken Russia enough to the point that China can defeat them in a war.<br><br>This would make sense as to why the US is sacrificing its own industrial base, and not pumping billions of dollars into NATO allies that could actually help beat Russia. The US is not just funneling billions into Ukraine for the sake of it, it is doing so to weaken Russia enough to the point that another super power can take advantage of that.<br><br>As we all know, China is actively trying to expand its influence into Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and Africa. If Russia were to be weakened enough, China could take advantage of that and expand into Siberia which would more than double Chinas industrial output. This would make China an unstoppable super power, and would spell disaster for the US.<br><br>Therefore, the US aiding Ukraine is not a selfless act, but rather a desperate and power hungry attempt to create conflict between the two super powers and eliminate the competition to the US' world dominance.<br><br>**tl;dr:** The US knows aid to Ukraine will not help Ukraine win the war. The US is actually trying to weaken Russia enough to the point that China can defeat them in a war, which would be bad for the US and the world.
