I'm sick of seeing all the bright colors in "minimalist" kitchens.

Yes, minimalism is about simplicity, and simplicity is often mistaken for the color white. However, I would argue that the bright colors in a minimalist kitchen are more annoying than anything.

The bold colors in a minimalist kitchen make it feel cluttered and overwhelming.

Quite frankly, I'm sick of seeing bright red and blue utensils. I'm sick of seeing bright colored wine glasses. I'm sick of seeing bright blue dish sets.

I'm 100% fine with minimalist kitchens with their bright colors on their utensils, wine glasses, and dish sets. That's fine-- everyone is different, and people get different things from minimalism. However, for some reason a lot of people think it's okay to bash white minimalist kitchens.

White kitchens are better than bright colored kitchens.

The reason why I feel this way is because white, black, gray, beige, etc. is easy to mix and match things. This is beneficial for a couple of reasons.

It makes it easier to replace things.

For example, let's say you have a bright red stand mixer. If that stand mixer breaks, you have to find a replacement that is in the color red. Bright red isn't a normal color for stand mixers, so it can be difficult and annoying to find. This is also bad for the environment.

Having a white stand mixer is a lot better. You can get any color mixer, because the white is easy to blend in with other colors. This is beneficial because you can easily switch out things if you want.

This also helps the environment. Because it's easy to blend in different colors, you can just get a new stand mixer if the old one breaks instead of throwing it out. This is a lot better for the environment, and is also a more minimalist approach.

It makes it feel less cluttered.

Bright colors make a space feel cluttered and small. In comparison, white, black, gray, beige, etc. makes it feel spacious and open.

Minimalism is about simplicity. So, if you want your space to feel minimalist, it makes more sense to have brighter/cleaner colors.

All in all, white kitchens are a lot better than brightly colored kitchens. It is easier to replace things, and it makes the space feel more spacious.

There's nothing wrong with having bright colored kitchens. I just think that white kitchens are better for the minimalist lifestyle, and that people should be more understanding of white kitchens.
