Holy shit y’all are getting played hard

You are buying 100% Chinese made parts, name dropping and throwing money into the abyss of folks who have no experience in manufacturing. Every single person on the front pages right now is all hype and no substance. This sub used to be for people who were avid shooters and machinists that built product and sold to the community at a discount to offset the costs of research and development. <br><br>As the years went on we saw a shift, people with a bit of cash came in and started businesses up. I’ve seen it happen a few times, someone buys a used cnc mill, cnc router or 3d printer and decides they can make a better XYZ widget. They don’t put in the years of testing and product development, they just stamp their name on a product someone else designed. Years ago it was the rail wars, people were making their own knock off rails (I did it too). <br><br>Then came the period where every other post was a person with an 80% or a “new” design for a receiver that honestly looked like a modified version of an existing receiver. I’ll name drop with the first one being tyrant, 2nd being polygonal. Both of which were played on hard, they did nothing to design said receivers. Polygonal 1.0 was the same receiver as before but with a smooth line, that’s it. Tyrant was literally the same receiver but with a beveled lower and a different finish on the upper.<br><br>The amount of custom upper receiver cuts coming out all with the same name is astounding. I see all sorts of “new” cuts that have been around for years, then hear you all fawn over the “new”. We all want to see new stuff and improvements but COME ON TITAN, THOR, RAPTOR, and LIGHTBRINGER are not original designs. You see companies like Sons of Liberty Gun Works, Asylum Arms, Battle Arms, and Forward Controls Design that bring a plethora of original work and dedication to the craft. That’s where you should be spending all your money, they are bringing high quality original products to the table. Every other person in this sub is just a reseller or someone who farms it out or slaps a logo on it and hoped you wouldn’t notice. <br><br>Apparently you all are happy to buy second hand Chinese junk and hope that a US based company is inspecting said junk (they aren’t). I’d rather spend my money on something made here, with the same quality and attention to detail as I would for my own products. I have personally witnessed these companies first hand taking products from overseas manufacturers and slapping their logo on it. That’s not manufacturing, that’s reselling.<br><br>&#x200B;<br><br>Edit: I’m going to stop responding to comments now. A lot of people have reached out and I appreciate that. The manufacturer I work for will be releasing a lot of new products in the coming months so keep an eye out.
