Regarding relationships, what are the implications of the concept of self?

In philosophy, is the concept of non-self (anatman) ever juxtaposed with philosophies relating to relationships, romantic love, and love?

Either the self exists or it doesn't. If it doesn't exist, do all romantic relationships eventually have to end? Without a self, relationships are just moments of human connection in the universe, so they can only be transitory and not truly personal because there's no actual, permanent self. This sounds like a pretty bleak view of human relationships in my opinion.
