ELI5 went from explaining things in a way a 5 year old would understand to just being another redden sub where adults can post basically anything at all.

I just don’t get it. I’ve never seen a single post in my time using this sub about something sciency or a bit complicated that isn’t answered with the same obnoxious, condescending comments about how the post didn’t meet the “ELI5 standard.”<br><br>I’ve been scrolling for 5 mins and I see posts about how mustard is spicy, how to get a girl to like you, when is a good time to put the toilet seat up, and how laundry works, among others. None of these posts would have been allowed on here a few years ago.
