If you make 100k a year, how do you afford to live in the USA?

Everyone I know who earns around 100k (software, medicine) has to live with two or more people, and even then they struggle to make ends meet.<br><br>I can’t see how you could earn that and live alone, I earn 40k and live alone and struggle to make ends meet. How does this work
