How do you guys do it? How do you write full length books?

I just wrote a short little snippet (300-500 words) but I'm still sitting on it for a month. I'm still trying to make it better. I still haven't found the time to make it better... but it's just 300-500 words. How do people write full length books? They are 50-60k words... does it take you guys years? <br><br>My novel is... I've probably written about 20k words but then I took a break and didn't even write a paragraph in 2 years. <br><br>I'm just so impressed and I hope that one day I could write a full length book.
