We all live in different parts of the world but the simple reality these days is that more and more of us are moving to freelance and remote work. Platforms like Upwork, Fiverr, Freelancer have been around for years and I have personally used them and encouraged others to do so.

However, the last few months have proven that most of us will need to be prepared to work in an Agile environment and that might be challenging for a lot of people, particularly in non-tech who are used to 8 hour days at work and who do not have the skills to adapt.

Artificial intelligence and machine learning may create some jobs that we haven’t thought of but the same is true of any new technology. I am not sure that, overall, it will add to the number of jobs available to us.

We need to be ready to adapt to these realities. We live in turbulent times and we cannot chance on governments to save us. We need to start thinking about our employability and how easy we can adapt to the coming changing realities.

**EDIT:**

I am not saying that everyone will be working in Agile. Certainly, there are a lot of jobs that require a time and place to deliver value.

The point I am making is that remote work is becoming more prevalent, and those jobs will have to adapt to an Agile future.

As an example, a lot of traditional professions such as teaching, healthcare, and consulting have been transitioning to remote work. These will be predominantly Agile jobs. Gone are the days that people are expected to be in an office from 8-5. We will have more time working remotely and we need to be ready for that.

I am open to being wrong. Please change my view.
