An app that takes you through the process of investigating an issue with your app, via an AI-powered chat bot<br><br>There are probably a bunch of apps that do this already, but here's the idea I came up with in a few minutes.<br><br>##The Goal:<br><br>Build a mobile app that guides the user through the process of identifying the cause of an issue with their app, via a chat bot.<br><br>##The Problem:<br><br>There are many different types of issues that can pop up in an app, and so there are many different ways to go about identifying what the cause is.<br><br>##The Solution:<br><br>Chat Bot App<br><br>* The user opens the chat bot app <br>* The chat bot asks a series of questions<br> + What kind of app is the issue in (e.g. a browser)<br> + What OS is the app running on (e.g. Windows, Mac)<br> + What kind of issue are you having (e.g. login issue, blank page, error message, etc.)<br> + What have you already tried to solve the issue (e.g. restarting browser, clearing cookies, etc)<br>* The chat bot responds with a series of possible explanations and corresponding diagnostic steps to try (e.g. check the browser console for errors, check the app logs for errors)<br>* The chat bot will repeatedly ask follow up questions and respond with additional steps to try, until the issue is resolved.<br><br>##Example:<br><br>User: My login isn't working<br><br>Chat Bot: Try clearing your cookies<br><br>User: I already tried that<br><br>Chat Bot: Have you cleared your local storage?<br><br>User: Yes<br><br>Chat Bot: Have you tried running the app in a private browser window?<br><br>User: I don't know what a private browser window is<br><br>Chat Bot: Here is a link to a tutorial on how to open a private browser window<br><br>User: I opened a private browser window and the app still doesn't work!<br><br>Chat Bot: Have you tried deleting the app and then reinstalling it?<br><br>User: I can't delete it and reinstall it, I don't have admin access to my machine<br><br>Chat Bot: Have you tried running the app on a different device?<br><br>User: I don't have another device<br><br>Chat Bot: Do you have a coworker that you can ask to try logging in to the app on their machine?<br><br>User: Yes, and they are able to login, so it must be an issue with my laptop!<br><br>Chat Bot: Have you tried clearing your cache?<br><br>Etc.<br><br>##Example 2:<br><br>User: My App won't connect to Wi-Fi<br><br>Chat Bot: Try restarting your router<br><br>User: I already tried that<br><br>Chat Bot: Have you tried moving the router to a different location?<br><br>User: I don't see how that would help, the issue is with my laptop!<br><br>Chat Bot: Sometimes routers will not provide Wi-Fi to devices that are too far away from the router. Try moving the router to a different location<br><br>User: Okay, I tried moving the router and now my laptop can connect!<br><br>Chat Bot: Great! Sometimes a simple solution is the best one<br><br>Etc.<br><br>This kind of app could be used for all kinds of things, from helping users troubleshoot issues with their video game, to helping coworkers troubleshoot issues with an internal business app, to helping students troubleshoot issues with the school wifi.
