Are we the next iteration, the next leap?

We've had the renaissance, industrial revolution, digital revolution, etc. Is this the next step? After all, we're tossed around here, billions of people. But we're also the first generation to be able to know we are potentially the last. It sure as hell feels like it, we've had the pandemic, nuclear war threats, we're talking about leaving the planet before we finally are able to leave in mass because it is falling apart. It's wild.
