What if all drugs were legal, regulated, safe and taxed?

This is still a hypothetical, but I'm just wondering.

What if all drugs were legalised? Not just weed. All of them. That's when it gets interesting.

Either all drugs would be legalised, or none would be legalised. If you threaten to arrest people for one drug, e.g. crack, then they're unlikely to seek help - and it's more likely to be impure.

Legalising drugs, would help addiction. Poor addictive people would be able to afford proper treatment, and wouldn't receive a criminal record, or face prosecution.

The government would gain a huge amount in tax, and it would come out of the hands of criminals.

Drugs would be safer and regulated. It would be illegal to sell unregulated drugs. A lot of people are taking drugs which aren't what they believe they are. Some people take pills that are in reality cement.

There would also be no illegal dealers. There is currently a crack epidemic. Legalising drugs would remove the crack dealers from the streets.

In the UK some people have suggested that heroin should be legalised.

I'm curious what you think.
