Should my mom get a medical marijuana card?

She has a severe congenital back problem, that makes it nearly impossible to do anything except walk slowly for a short distance. She told me if she does anything physical, its an all day thing because it hurts so much. I wish my grandma could just give her some edibles but she'd never do that.
