I constantly see people on this sub, people who call themselves minimalists, who have kids. They have a nursery, they have toys, they have baby gear. But the truth is, you can’t have both.

If you want to have kids, you will have stuff. Tons of it. You will be a consumer. You will work for money to buy all of this stuff. You will be a slave to the companies you give your money to.

And with all of that stuff comes all the problems that minimalism seeks to solve in the first place. There is one outcome and it is the total negation of what minimalism is about. Minimalism is useless if you have kids. They are the antithesis of one another.

So, if you are a minimalist, don’t have kids. If you have kids, don’t call yourself a minimalist.
