CMV: It's impossible to change someone's political views.

I've been a lurker of this sub in the past and something I've noticed is almost every time the person who posts the thread is unable to change their view. In many cases, a few comments in, the post is locked by a moderator without the person ever changing their view. This sub is a nice idea, but in reality, I think it's a waste of time to try and change political views, which are usually ingrained and either learned or inherited. Look at US politics. Trump won the last election in 2016, despite losing the popular vote. It's not like people are going to magically wake up and think "oh I should change my political belief here". It just won't happen.<br><br>Many of you may not agree, but I'd love to hear your opinions.<br><br><br>EDIT: I'm not saying it's not possible to change someone's opinion, but I think it's a rare circumstance.
