ELI5: Why can't my girlfriend see the differences between kids

My girlfriend is a middle school teacher, and she always is just so happy to see all the kids. In her mind all the kids are just the same, and she barely knows their names (she has over 200 kids a week). But whenever I bring it up, she tries to convince me that there are no differences between them and that they are all the same.
