Would you be OK with "the end of humanity"?

Some of the AI proponents and techno-optimists always throw the "end of humanity" card when people are afraid of what AI brings.<br><br>And no, we don't want to end humanity. Humanity can thrive without AI. And even if we did want to end humanity, we wouldn't be advocating for the end of humanity through the hands of an entity that has taken over our world. We want to end humanity in a way that is painless, peaceful, and humane. <br><br>It's like if a burglar broke into your home and said that "since you were going to end your life anyway, does it make you feel any better if I kill you? You won't have to kill yourself."
