An American Crisis

Trump is an American Crisis. He personifies everything that is wrong with this country and filters out everything that is good. <br><br>The original problem is Trump himself; because he is a mud for brains toddler that has never understood how to be an adult. By extension, this is also a problem with his delusional followers that live vicariously through him. <br><br>This is all they have.<br><br>Trump has destroyed a great deal of America, but America is a very strong nation and it will survive him. Surviving Trump, however, will not alleviate this crisis if the American people doesn't straighten out itself. We have a people problem. <br><br>Trump has revealed that there is a large subset of Americans that have no concept of Truth. No effort has been made to change this; instead, they have doubled down on it. In many ways they believe that white is better. Racism has always been here, but Trump has made main stream. They believe that biology is an evil communist and are willing to die for their belief. So far we have not found a solution to this problem.<br><br>Trump has revealed an American society that is openly hostile to Peace, Love, and Understanding. They have become so militarized that they have stolen the line "Make America Great Again" from the hippies of the 60's. They hate it so much that they are willing to pack the courts to get what they want. This is all the while that they steal Social Security and Medicare from the American tax payer; all the while they pretend that they pay for it. He has revealed that there is a large subset of Americans that are hostile to all that is good. <br><br>Trump has revealed that America is in an existential crisis. We lack Truth and facts. We lack morality. We lack Empathy and Compassion. We lack intellect. We lack reason and logic. We have always lacked these things, but at least we tried. Now we have a large subset of Americans that don't even try.<br><br>This is a problem that will not be solved by just impeaching Trump. We are in an existential crisis and we do not know how to alleviate it. <br><br>The Americans that elected Trump are a problem. They are a problem because they elected Trump. They are a problem because they continue to support him. This is a problem that will not be solved by Nov 3rd.<br><br>We cannot have a Democracy where 40% of the people are hostile to Democracy. We cannot have a Democracy where 40% of the people oppose our Democratic institutions. We cannot have a Democracy where 40% of the people oppose our vote. <br><br>We cannot have a society where 40% of the people are hostile to society. We cannot have a society where 40% of the people oppose everything good.<br><br>We cannot have a system of government where 40% of the people oppose our system of government. We cannot have a system of government where 40% of the people oppose the rule of law. We cannot have a system of government where 40% of the people oppose the vote.<br><br>We are a Democracy; but 40% of the Americans don't care about Democracy. We are a Democratic society; but 40% of the Americans don't care about society. We are a Democratic people; but 40% of the Americans are hostile to Democracy.<br><br>We are a Democratic Republican. But 40% of the Americans are hostile to Democracy and Republicanism.<br><br>We are a Capitalist Democracy. But 40% of the Americans are hostile to Capitalism, Democracy and Truth. Truth is a victim of this crisis. When we have tens of millions of Americans that believe that Truth is evil, we are in trouble. We cannot have a Democracy were Truth is evil. We cannot have a Capitalist Democracy where Truth is evil. We cannot have a Capitalist society where Truth is evil. We cannot have a Democracy where Truth is evil. <br><br>This is an existential crisis because we are in crisis with who we are. We are in crisis because we have no concept of Truth. We are in crisis because Truth is evil. This is an existential crisis because we are a Capitalist Democracy where tens of millions of Americans believe that Truth is evil. This is an existential crisis because we don't know who we are. <br><br>In the end, this is a people problem. Trump is a symptom of the problem and not the problem itself. <br><br>This is a problem that will not be cured anytime soon. It probably cannot be cured. Most likely it will be cured by the passage of time. In the mean time, I am glad that I am old.
