Has anyone ever wondered why it’s always about women’s rights?

I’m not talking about female privilege or anything, but it’s always about women’s rights this and women’s rights that. Women are encouraged to stand up for their rights and stuff but are men?

I mean, I’m not talking about all women of course. I’ve met tons of amazing women who actually care about us but the message sends out the idea that it doesn’t matter what gender you are, you are supposed to care for women and fight for their rights and stuff but no one does this for men. I mean I’m a guy and I don’t really care about women’s rights nor do I care about men’s rights. I just think everyone should be equal. If women have rights, then we should too. I mean, we are equal of course but it’s always about women and no one ever thought to think about the guys as much.

I’m not saying it’s bad to care for women but I just wish we were seen as equals. I remember a long time ago, I guess I was around 13 or something? and this girl was harassing me and a teacher walked by and he was like “this is a safe space for women, not men” and he walked by. I remember feeling so bad, like my needs didn’t matter. She was sexually harassing me and he just didn’t even care even though I was literally crying at the time. I was confused and I thought to myself “What? Why can’t men have safe spaces too?”

I’ve met plenty of women who were willing to be there for me and stuff but it’s always been preached to me that I have to always care for the women and always stand up for their rights. I even asked my dad about this and he was like “Gender roles are a thing” and he said men are supposed to protect the women but I don’t really get why? I mean, I don’t really feel the need to gender roles are a thing and I also don’t get why I have to protect them if they can protect themselves.

I can’t lie though, I do want to protect women. I just feel bad for them and I want to help them out. But I don’t think it’s fair that I have to protect them and stand up for their rights while no one else stands up for mine. I want to fight for women’s rights, I really do, but I also wish someone would fight for my rights and care about me the same way I care about them.

I don’t really know what the point of this post was but I just wanted to ask a question. I mean, I don’t really know how to end this post so I’m just gonna end it here.

Edit: Surprisingly, this blew up. I don’t know what to say. Thank you all for your answers and stuff but I just wanted to make it clear that I’m not a kid. I’m actually an adult. I don’t really want to disclose my age but I’m just not a kid. I know some people have said that I’m one in the comments but just to make it clear, I’m not.
