What Is this job interview I just had for?

I just had a very unusual interview. I was contacted by a recruiter, they did their interview. Then they setup an interview with a hiring manager, which just finished.<br><br>The hiring manager was super cagey about what the company and job actually does. He wouldn't even tell me the name of the company, only that it was part of a larger conglomerate and that the conglomerate was well known. He got equally vague when I asked about the job. At one point he literally just said that the company sold "a widget" and that that is all he was allowed to tell me, and I would have to figure it out from there.<br><br>It seemed like the interview was just them making sure I wasn't some kind of spy, but it was pretty off-putting.
