What if we all just stopped?

I mean every single woman just stopped.

I'm a nurse. I can't stop.

My husband works in an office. He could do his job from home, but he chooses to go to work. He does 6 hours a day, anytime he wants to. He could do that from home and keep childcare, but that would make his day too long.

Childcare is closed. I can't even get my kids into a weekday summer camp. So I'm putting my license on inactive status this summer. This means I won't be eligible to reactiviate if something happens to my husband. I'm giving up my career. I've been a nurse since 2008. I'm pretty good at it. But I just can't.

What if I just....stopped?

I think I'm going to.

My husband can cut his hours, hire more help, ask his parents to help more, and pick up the slack.

If every working woman just....stopped... What would happen? The economy would shut down. The healthcare system would come to a standstill. All the fast food/sit down restaurants would be closed. So would all the coffee shops. What if we all just....stopped?

My kids would be cared for. My husband would have to make the adjustments. I'd finally have equality.
