Anyone else terrified of consciousness not existing after death?

I've read a few articles that have said that consciousness could stop existing after death and that it's possible, and it's just like what the hell, I've never heard of that before. I'm terrified that once I die, I don't have a soul or something and there's no heaven/hell, like wtf is that?
