What are some historical precursors to the modern concept of consent?

Posted this on r/askhistorians, but it got removed as it "lacked historical context". <br><br>Consent is often spoken about as a relatively modern concept. I believe it was mentioned on a podcast that the modern interpretation of affirmative, enthusiastic, consent is a product of third wave feminism in the 90s.<br><br>I'm trying to do some research into the history of consent and I'm not sure where to start. It's such a huge topic and I don't want to just read a whole book on the history of rape. <br><br>What are some historical precursors to the modern concept of affirmative, enthusiastic consent as taught on college campuses in the US today?
