My husband laughed at my workout routine and I told him to leave. I don’t know what to do.

So I (f29) have some weight to lose. I’ve been too anxious to work out in public so I’m working out in my living room. I got off work early one day last week and started doing a little workout video on my TV. I was about half way through it when my husband (m31) got home and made fun of me working out.

Now I get that we aren’t all fitness enthusiasts but he made fun of the fact that I was trying to get in shape. He doesn’t take care of himself either. He’s not overweight or anything but he could stand to lose a few lbs.

I asked him to go outside and wait for I was done so we could talk. He refused and told me to stop when he got home. I got mad and told him to leave for a bit. He laughed and told me he wasn’t going to leave his house when I had company.

It was such a condescending tone. I got mad and told him to get out. He refused and I got in my car and left when he went to the restroom. I kept drive for awhile and finally went to a friends to replay for her what he said.
She told me to come home but I told her, “why should I. He gets to belittle me and talk down to me in the place I call home?” She agreed. She offered to let me stay there for the night. I stayed there last night too.

I have been texting him, telling him what time I will be home. But every time I tell him I’m not ready to come home and I need some time. He agreed but now I’m starting to feel guilty. I love him and all but I don’t like how he talked to me.

But the, I don’t want to live at my friends for too long. Plus I need to get back to work.
