CMV: Governments and big tech companies are using the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdowns in the UK to normalise and legalise house arrest and surveillance and while people are arresting others for breaking lockdown they are no better than the government.

I understand that for the next the few weeks we need to isolate and social distance ourselves from each other. We had to do this to protect the vulnerable and elderly in our communities.<br><br>However, I see the UK government and big tech companies like Google using the pandemic to legalise house arrest, surveillance, human control and getting us all to point the finger at each other. I honestly feel that a lot of lockdown rules imposed by the government are more about control, surveillance, privacy invasion and house arrest than the real thing. By the way, this is just CMV for the UK, although part of it may apply to other countries.<br><br>Why are we arresting people for going on long walks and why are they being fined? Why are we arresting people on the streets after dark for simply being out there? Why have we been arrested for simply driving too far when doing essential shopping? Why are we scanning elderly and vulnerable people for a virus they may not have and demanding they stay in isolation or be arrested?<br><br>Why are we arresting people for sunbathing? Why are police using drones to arrest people for going on walks in the wilderness? Why are they using drones to track people down? Why have we been told we cannot visit our elderly parents or grandparents? Why have we been arrested for simply playing a game of FOOTBALL or BASKETBALL with friends? Why are getting arrested or fined for going to a friends house?<br><br>Why are we being told we cannot leave our houses more than once a day? Why do we have to stay in our houses at night? Why are we being arrested for simply hanging out with friends or having a house party? Why are we being arrested for going to the beach? Why have we been arrested and fined for trying to get some fresh air? Why are we being arrested for going to parks? Why are we being arrested for walking our DOGS further than 1 mile away from our houses? Why are we being arrested for doing sports or getting exercise?<br><br>Why are we being told not to post anything negative about the lockdown on social media? Why are we losing our jobs and businesses because of lockdown? Why are we not allowed to travel? Why are we being arrested and fined for going on holiday? Why are we being told we can only buy essential goods? Why are we being arrested for bulk buying? Why are we being arrested for stockpiling goods? Why are we being arrested for hoarding water and food? Why are we only allowed to walk in one direction in parks and grocery stores?<br><br>Why have we been arrested and fined for trying to escape lockdown? Why are we all being treated like dogs by the government? I think the media is playing a big part in this too by creating this backbreaking fear of the virus. I think the government and big tech companies have been using the media to scare the shit out of people to justify the lockdown and why it is necessary. I am not saying the virus is not a threat, but I think the lockdown has now become more about control than the virus itself. <br><br>I know many of you also think this lockdown has become worse and it is more about institutional control, but it seems many people are still enjoying the lockdown and thinking the lockdown is all about the virus. This is my CMV anyway.
