How important is it for a woman to be the breadwinner in marriage?

My mom is super interested in buying a house. She wants to stay home and study for a career that she enjoys, but also would like to have a house so she doesn't have to deal with the "cost and hassle" of renting. She's huge on owning a house, and she has probably 8-10 grand saved up. She wants to put 20% down. So that means the house must be $100,000 or less. <br><br>But.. where is the other $80,000 going to come from? She doesn't want to borrow from my aunt because she's mad at her, but she's also not keen on the idea of selling her summer home. It's worth $40,000. <br><br>I asked her about her situation with guys, and she told me that all the guys she wants to date are... broke. So she doesn't want to date them. I told her to put in the effort to find a guy who is good enough. But she wants to date someone with similar interests, and it's hard to find a guy who... a) has a good job b) is trustworthy c) has similar interests d) is single and available. <br><br>WTF how hard is it to find a man with a good job?
