Why you should never eat to your edges

My dad was a dietitian and he would always say that once you get to the point you’re full, you should stop eating and save the rest for later. He said the first bite you take past when you initially feel the first incline of being full will start to make your stomach expand. If it expands too much, you’ll need to eat more to feel full, which will make you gain weight. He said you want to eat just enough to feel satisfied upon eating, but never finish the meal so you can be left feeling hungry. Everytime I’d finish a meal to the last bite he would tell me that I ate too much and would expand my stomach, and therefore I would gain weight over time. <br>This advice stayed with me ever since.
