I know what I saw...and it was weird as hell

Im in the navy and I've been out to sea for about two months and it still creeps me out when I think back on it. <br><br>One night I was walking to the mess hall (where you eat) when I saw one of my buddies walking in the same direction as me, he was about 15-20 feet away from me. We did the usual head nod and said hi, but when I got to the mess hall he wasn't there. I figured he had went to the gym or something so I went on with my day.<br><br>The next day I asked him what he did after we saw each other. He told me he went to the mess hall and I said that I saw him before he went to the mess hall. He told me he wasn't on that side of the ship even remotely close to where I saw him. <br><br>Now I know im in the navy and the ship can be kinda maze like for the uninitiated, but I know this ship like the back of my hand and I KNOW what I saw and I saw him near the mess hall. <br><br>So what the hell did I see?
