People often say "getting fat" is very hard for them, and that they have to "eat a lot" to gain weight. Most people that say this have no issues with gaining weight, they just don't really want to gain weight and list big holes in their reasoning.

Those concerned with gaining fat will often list off foods with strong calories which everyone understands are high in calories and fat to make a point that "it's hard to gain fat" - often never considering the strong calorie/fat content in foods like whole wheat bread and pasta.

They won't track their macros, and think that having protein supplements is enough to get fat gains. They won't even do casual exercise like walking/barbell curls and will say that's "getting fat" is really hard when they clearly are not even trying.

They will claim it is hard to gain fat while having a normal diet and lifestyle, which is false. It is very easy for most people to become chubbier when they live an inactive lifestyle or simply don't watch the foods they're consuming a lot.
